Supporting Maggie’s – One Step at a Time

At Cowens, looking out for people is at the heart of everything we do- whether that’s our clients, our colleagues, or our wider community. That’s why we wanted to share something a little different with you today.

On Saturday 13th September 2025, a group of us from the Cowens team- David Carroll, Hayley Hutchinson, Lorna Dalby, Stefanie Cockroft, Toby Chaplin and David’s wife, Lauren- will be taking on the Edale Skyline Challenge, a full-day, 12-mile walk through the beautiful (but demanding!) Peak District.

We’re doing it in support of a cause that means a lot to us: Maggie’s, the cancer support charity.

Why Maggie’s?

Cancer touches so many lives- often in ways we don’t always see. When someone receives a diagnosis, it can turn life upside down. That’s where Maggie’s steps in.

Maggie’s centres across the UK provide free, expert, practical and emotional support to anyone affected by cancer- from help with treatment and finances to simply offering a calm, welcoming space to talk.

Their people-first approach really resonates with us at Cowens, and we want to do our part to ensure they can continue offering this vital support.

About the Challenge

The Edale Skyline route is known for its rugged beauty- and its steep climbs! It takes in some of the most iconic spots in the Peaks, including Mam Tor, Lose Hill and Kinder Scout. We know it’ll be a challenge, but it’s one we’re proud to take on together.

Every step we take will help raise awareness and vital funds for Maggie’s, so they can continue being there for those who need them most.

How You Can Support

If you’d like to support our walk- whether through a donation, a message of encouragement or by simply sharing our fundraising page- we’d be so grateful.

Visit our fundraising page here – Maggie’s: Maggie’s Edale Skyline Challenge

Every pound raised will go directly to Maggie’s, helping them continue their incredible work across the UK.

Thank You

We’re proud to be taking on this challenge, and even more proud to do it in support of a charity that truly changes lives.

Thank you for taking a moment to read this- and for being part of our journey.

Warm wishes,
The Cowens Team
